Here’s a bit of irony for you.
It seems that Charles Manson’s engagement to a woman 53 younger than him was just part of her bizarre plot to make money putting his dead body on display after his death, according to the author of an upcoming book.
Fox News reports that Manson’s fiancée, 27-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, A.K.A. Star, wanted to marry the convicted serial killer so she could gain possession of his corpse, according to journalist Daniel Simone.
Burton had planned to display Manson’s corpse in a glass crypt, Simone says. She reportedly figured that the attraction would draw huge crowds.
Alas, Manson, 80, does not want to marry Burton and wants no part of spending eternity in a glass coffin.
“He’s finally realized that he’s been played for a fool,” Simone said.
Of course, the fact that Charles Manson believes he is immortal probably didn’t help either.
