During Sunday’s Elite 8 game between Louisville and Duke, Louisville guard Kevin Ware sustained one of the worst injuries in the history of collegiate athletics.
As Ware was trying to block a shot, he jumped into the air and landed awkwardly on his leg, which snapped as he landed leaving about 6 inches of his tibia protruding through his skin.
Ware writhed around on the ground in pain as his teammates recoiled in horror at the extent of the injury.
Even the coaches could be seen wiping tears from their eyes.
This was truly a horrific injury.
